Consulting Engineer
Our client is hiring a skilled Consulting Engineer to join our dynamic team in San Antonio, TX. This full-time role offers the opportunity to deliver cutting-edge Cisco solutions and services, including design, installation, and proactive day-to-day services. The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in creating customer success, working within a multifunctional team that includes project managers, sales teams, and customer success managers. This position requires extensive hands-on experience with enterprise networking and a commitment to working on-site 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Cisco solutions based on customer requirements, including creating Customer Requirements Documents, High-Level Designs, and Low-Level Designs.
- Lead migration, implementation, and test plans for Cisco solutions.
- Conduct design workshops and provide consultancy services to address customer needs.
- Resolve implementation issues during migrations and assist customers with deploying tools and related Network Management Systems.
- Collaborate within an extended multi-functional team, including project managers, sales teams, and customer success managers, to ensure customer success.
- Proactively identify risks, anticipate issues, and lead resolutions to ensure successful project completion.
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with team members and customers to articulate visions, influence decisions, and guide teams through complex network designs and troubleshooting.
- CCIE, CCNP, or higher certifications, or equivalent professional experience.
- In-depth knowledge of designing complex routing and switching networks.
- Extensive hands-on experience with IOS-XE, ASR9k, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and other routing/switching principles.
- Ability to lead, influence, and guide teams in dynamic strategic environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Capable of working autonomously and thriving in a transformational environment.
- 5-7 years of experience in technical consulting or direct customer interfacing/engagement role within the networking domain.
- Military Veterans with the required skills are encouraged to apply.
- Active TS US government clearance is required due to the nature of work with a DOD client.
- Must be available to work on-site in San Antonio, TX, 5 days a week.
