Role Summary
A DevSecOps Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable and secure cloud infrastructure within an AWS environment. This role requires a hands-on professional experienced in automation, infrastructure-as-code, and modern DevOps practices to support large-scale federal healthcare modernization projects. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance, security, and reliability, with a focus on leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve automation and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect AWS cloud solutions utilizing native services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB/ALB, and EKS, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain infrastructure resources through the AWS Console, CLI, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Implement and enforce security controls including IAM policies, encryption, network segmentation, and compliance requirements aligned with federal standards.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and cost metrics; troubleshoot issues proactively and optimize resource utilization.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment and infrastructure updates using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Support containerized applications deploying with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), minimizing downtime and streamlining release processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to translate application needs into robust and secure AWS infrastructure solutions.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate scripting, automation, documentation, and incident response, ensuring security and accuracy.
- Promote responsible usage of AI tools, establishing review standards and risk mitigation procedures for automation and infrastructure automation tasks.
- Stay current with cloud security best practices, emerging DevOps trends, and AWS service updates to continuously improve platform resilience and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering roles.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS core services and native solutions, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Proven expertise in managing infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, IAM, encryption, and network configurations.
- Knowledge of container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex AWS and CI/CD issues efficiently.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with excellent time management skills.
- Availability to participate in scheduled interview times and pass required background checks.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $55.00 Hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
