Role Summary
The Digital Services Technical Lead is a senior-level, hands-on role responsible for driving innovation, technical design, and strategic technology initiatives within digital transformation projects. This position requires extensive technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, application development, security, and automation, with a focus on fostering collaboration across diverse engineering teams. The role involves providing technical leadership to enhance software maturity, implement emerging technologies, and support enterprise-wide digital adoption.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of new technology solutions aligned with strategic goals
- Oversee and mature application development processes and continuous delivery pipelines, including CI/CD practices
- Provide expert guidance on cloud infrastructure, particularly in AWS environments, including tools such as CloudWatch and OpenSearch
- Manage and troubleshoot enterprise and cloud platform issues using observability, monitoring, and diagnostics tools such as Datadog
- Lead incident response efforts, ensuring effective communication, root cause analysis, and resolution during high-impact events
- Draft and respond to RFIs, creating technical approaches that support the organization’s strategic roadmap
- Establish and enforce standards within engineering teams to improve process efficiency and incident management
- Develop and review documentation related to incident management, technical procedures, and design specifications
- Facilitate Agile sprint processes to drive continuous improvement of business processes and technology solutions
- Define integration strategies connecting data, systems, and emerging technologies like AI and digital dashboards
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, network management, IT security, and application development
- Proven hands-on expertise with AWS services, Kubernetes (AWS EKS), Terraform, and security tools such as Aqua and DLP
- Experience with CI/CD tools, including GitLab, feature flags, and DORA metrics
- Coding proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, C++, or Ruby
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management, network administration, and security principles
- Familiarity with remote access protocols and tools like SFTP, RDP, Citrix, AWS Session Manager
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional and AWS Certified Security – Specialty certifications preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, handle critical incident management, and communicate complex technical issues clearly
- Self-starter with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and strategic thinking capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and execute tactical and strategic initiatives.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
Publishing Pay Range: $80.00 – $85.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
