Role Summary
A senior control (process) engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting process control systems within midstream energy processing facilities. This role involves providing technical expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of control systems, instrumentation, and measurement technologies. The position requires a highly skilled professional capable of managing multiple projects and collaborating across various teams to optimize process performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support process control systems for oil and gas processing assets.
- Provide engineering and technical support for instrumentation, control systems, and measurement technologies.
- Lead and support process control project scope, planning, and estimation activities.
- Develop and review process, electrical, and instrumentation drawings, including Cause and Effect Diagrams, specifications, and control narratives.
- Configure and program HMI and PLC platforms, including function block and ladder logic programming.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards for documentation, regulatory requirements, and safety systems.
- Participate in operational training related to control and instrumentation systems.
- Manage multiple projects independently while coordinating with contractors and other support teams.
- Support safety systems configuration and troubleshooting, including Triconex Safety Systems.
- Communicate technical information effectively with operations, engineering teams, and contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or at least 10 years of controls-related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing process control systems in processing plants.
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards for documentation, regulatory compliance, and control system configuration.
- Proficiency in reading and developing process, electrical, and instrumentation drawings.
- Experience with Honeywell Experion DCS is preferred; working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC, Modicon PLC, and Triconex Safety Systems is a plus.
- Strong skills in PLC configuration, function block, and ladder logic programming.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and coordinate large projects with contractors.
- Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs. and climbing ladders.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, across all organizational levels.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 15% and be on call as required.
Publishing Pay Range: $140,000.00 – $150,000.00 Annually
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
