Role Summary
An engineering management position overseeing both production and research and development (R&D) engineering teams within a rapidly growing organization. This role requires a strategic leader with robust technical expertise in mechanical, chemical, or materials science engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a high-performing team, driving operational efficiency, innovation, and ensuring alignment with corporate goals. This is a leadership role designed for an individual committed to continuous improvement, safety, and quality in a dynamic, solution-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct management, coaching, and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate clear objectives, key performance indicators, and expectations; conduct performance reviews and goal-setting sessions.
  • Collaborate with operations managers to optimize manufacturing processes, improving productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Guide R&D initiatives for new product and material development, ensuring projects meet strategic and technical requirements.
  • Develop, plan, and execute schedules and resource allocations to support customer demands and project timelines.
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and personnel planning, tracking performance against goals.
  • Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Oversee prototype development, testing, and scale-up activities, ensuring accuracy and quality of work products.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, promoting a culture of safety across teams.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, project prioritization, and business development efforts in alignment with company growth objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong technical background in manufacturing processes, R&D, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and experience with MRP systems.
  • Working knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing concepts, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate work across multidisciplinary groups and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations relevant to engineering disciplines.
  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.

Publishing Pay Range: $120,000.00 – $180,000.00 annually
• This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
