Role Summary
Seeking a senior-level Application Architect to join a collaborative enterprise environment focused on supporting and modernizing critical business applications. The role involves leading the design, enhancement, and modernization of legacy systems while partnering closely with business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will bring extensive object-oriented development experience, architecture expertise, and a problem-solving mindset to support long-term application stability and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support enterprise applications and integrations within existing frameworks.
  • Lead modernization initiatives by updating legacy systems to improve scalability, maintainability, and automation.
  • Architect solutions that operate within vendor-controlled environments and limitations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business units to gather requirements, evaluate solutions, and influence technology decisions.
  • Translate complex business challenges into practical technical solutions with a focus on innovation within constraints.
  • Support long-term modernization roadmaps, including evaluating emerging technologies such as AI and automation tools.
  • Maintain data integrity, quality, and reliability of critical business processes and applications.
  • Mentor and collaborate with team members, sharing best practices in technical architecture and development.
  • Participate in architectural planning sessions and contribute to technical strategy and long-term modernization efforts.
  • Engage with both highly involved and disengaged end users to ensure solutions meet business needs and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of software development experience with a strong background in object-oriented programming.
  • Proficient in technologies such as C#, Java, Angular, or C++.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and supporting enterprise applications, especially within commercial software platforms.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and system integration.
  • Proven ability to work within technical constraints, with creative problem-solving skills to find practical workarounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience gathering requirements, translating business needs into technical solutions, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Consulting experience supporting multiple clients or business units is preferred.
  • Background in financial, accounting, or transaction-based systems advantageous.
  • Ability to operate within legacy system constraints, extend existing applications, and modernize infrastructure.

Publishing Pay Range: $140,000.00 – $160,000.00 annually

Location Requirements: This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
