MAC OS Expert / Automation Engineer

Role Summary

A highly skilled macOS Automation Platform and Cloud Build Engineer is needed to develop and manage the infrastructure, automation pipelines, and device management integrations essential for scalable macOS packaging and distribution. This role emphasizes the implementation of cloud-based build environments, migration of AutoPkg execution to AWS EC2 Mac instances, and integration of automated workflows through Workspace ONE APIs and Omnissa Intelligence. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant development operations.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage AWS EC2 Mac build infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ensuring environment repeatability, configuration standardization, and lifecycle control.
• Design, build, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines that support packaging builds, security scans, compliance checks, and artifact promotion.
• Integrate with Workspace ONE APIs to automate package uploads, deployment workflows, and telemetry data collection through Omnissa Intelligence.
• Establish secure procedures for handling credentials, secrets, signing materials, and build artifacts, incorporating traceability and compliance measures.
• Implement comprehensive pipeline monitoring, logging, error detection, and failure remediation practices to guarantee reliable operations and rapid troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with macOS packaging engineers, security teams, and other stakeholders to define system interfaces, establish compliance gates, and streamline distribution processes.
• Maintain all automation code, pipeline configurations, and integrations in version control systems such as GitHub, adopting best practices for code review, change management, and documentation.
• Leverage AI-assisted automation and agent-based methodologies to enhance delivery speed, reduce manual efforts, and uphold auditability standards.
• Stay current with AutoPkg workflows, build system interactions, and artifact repository management to optimize automation strategies.
• Develop and maintain Python-based tooling and custom validation integrations to support pipeline functionality, compliance checks, and automation workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically utilizing Terraform for managing AWS EC2 Mac instances and other cloud resources.
• Demonstrated ability in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines that deliver deterministic, auditable, and automated build processes.
• Strong understanding of integrating enterprise platforms via APIs, including authentication, error handling, and operational telemetry.
• Familiarity with Workspace ONE APIs, application distribution workflows, and deployment concepts.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows, including branching strategies, code reviews, and collaborative development.
• Ability to coordinate across engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver secure and reliable platform solutions.
• Experience working with AutoPkg workflows, build automation, and artifact repository management.
• Programming skills in Python for automation tooling, validation processes, and integrations—preferred.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted automation and agent-based workflow orchestration is advantageous.
• Web application development experience and modern API design capabilities to support portal enablement are a plus.
• Authorized to work in the specified location without restrictions.

Publishing Pay Range: $59.82 – $63.26 Hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
