Role Summary
An experienced Omnissa Horizon Deployment Engineer is required to lead deployment initiatives across multiple sites, ensuring the seamless implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure and related technologies. This senior-level role involves configuring and managing virtualization platforms, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and supporting security integrations. The successful candidate will oversee infrastructure readiness, deployment, and optimization of a complex virtual environment to meet organizational needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess and verify infrastructure readiness for Horizon Virtual Desktop implementation.
- Configure hardware, virtual networks, storage, and security integrations for virtualization environments.
- Support integration of on-premises data centers with security and privileged access management solutions.
- Configure and support VMware vSphere ESXi hosts, vCenter, and manage Microsoft Hyper-V hosts, virtual switches, and clustering.
- Deploy Windows Server virtual machines and install Horizon Connection Server components.
- Configure Horizon policies, Events Database, Active Directory integration, load balancers, and certificates.
- Deploy and manage App Volumes, Unified Access Gateways, and Nvidia GRID licensing and GPU appliances.
- Install and configure Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) and Microsoft FSLogix profiles.
- Prepare and maintain virtual desktop images, including migration, optimization, and security policies.
- Configure Horizon pools, Cloud Pod Architecture, and perform validation testing with stakeholder sign-off.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience deploying and managing VMware Horizon, vSphere, and Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
- In-depth knowledge of virtualization, VDI architecture, security protocols, and Active Directory.
- Hands-on experience with Nvidia GRID, DEM, and FSLogix profile management.
- Familiarity with enterprise virtualization hardware such as Cisco UCS servers and storage solutions such as Pure Storage.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct technical knowledge transfer sessions.
- Relevant VMware, Microsoft, or related certifications are preferred.
- Ability to work independently and remotely with a flexible schedule.
Publishing Pay Range: $70.00 – $80.00 USD Hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
