Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Release Manager and Disaster Recovery (DR) Coordinator to oversee the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of software releases for complex, multi-module platforms. In addition, this role will involve setting up and monitoring a Disaster Recovery program to ensure operational continuity and resilience. The ideal candidate will work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure that updates, patches, change requests, and new features are deployed efficiently and meet quality standards. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to drive improvements in release methodologies and contribute to the establishment of robust DR programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of software releases across various integrated modules, ensuring efficient deployment and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline release processes, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless communication between stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage release processes from development/test through production environments, including managing team testing schedules across environments and module vendors.
  • Track progress of testing versus schedules in test environments and create plans and schedules for the implementation and deployment of features, bug fixes, incidents, and changes across all environments.
  • Identify and manage risks and dependencies, communicate them to stakeholders, and develop mitigation/contingency plans for discovered risks.
  • Coordinate releases with internal and external teams, conduct release readiness and Go/No-Go reviews, and communicate release status to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that vendors' Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) align with the organization's plans and direct the creation of the program's Disaster Recovery methodology and plan.
  • Conduct a business impact analysis to estimate downtime objectives, recovery time objectives, and desired recovery time objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes for multi-module platforms.
  • Proficiency in managing interdependencies across multiple platform modules during releases.
  • Exceptional coordination and organizational skills to manage multiple releases simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management skills to identify, address, and mitigate release-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient understanding of ITIL Release Management Methodology and expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations.
  • 5+ years of work experience with New Product releases or related background working in an IT environment (both development and production).
  • Demonstrated experience managing software releases in a multiple-module platform environment and orchestrating the creation of a Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Management, or a related field is required.
