Role Summary
A Senior Control Engineer with extensive experience in supporting process control systems for the refined products and petrochemical pipeline sectors. This role involves providing engineering expertise, technical support, and project guidance to ensure the effective operation and safety of process control systems across storage and pipeline assets. The position requires a proactive leader capable of collaborating with operations teams and handling complex automation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support process control systems and instrumentation for refinery and pipeline operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for process control project scope, planning, and cost estimates.
  • Offer operational support and troubleshooting expertise for existing control systems.
  • Collaborate with local operations teams to optimize control strategies and ensure system reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for documentation, safety systems, and loop tuning.
  • Configure and program HMI and PLC platforms, including Wonderware Intouch and Allen Bradley Control Logix.
  • Conduct system testing, commissioning, and validation of control solutions.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving control system issues in a timely manner.
  • Document control system configurations, modifications, and maintenance procedures.
  • Engage in site visits and training activities, supporting field modifications and upgrades as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant technical certification; engineering degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience implementing process control systems in storage and pipeline applications, with a focus on crude oil, natural gas liquids, and natural gas.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards for documentation, loop tuning, safety systems, and PLC configuration.
  • Proven experience with configuration and programming of Wonderware/AVEVA Intouch HMI and Allen Bradley Control Logix PLCs.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and work at heights, including ladder climbing.
  • Effective communication skills for interfacing with operational teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Availability to travel domestically up to 10% and respond to on-call requirements 24/7.
  • Field experience in oil and gas processing, especially upstream and midstream environments, is highly desirable.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently, confidently engage with less technical teams, and make sound decisions.

Publishing Pay Range: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
