Role Summary
This position involves managing credit risk within a dynamic commodity trading environment, supporting commercial decision making through advanced analytics and reporting. The role offers an opportunity to influence risk mitigation strategies, credit exposure management, and financial modeling to ensure responsible growth. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple internal teams to uphold credit portfolio integrity and enable informed strategic decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the creditworthiness of new and existing counterparties and recommend appropriate credit limits.
- Approve credit limits within delegated authority levels for both new and existing counterparties.
- Process issuance, amendments, and management of collateral instruments to secure credit exposure.
- Continuously monitor credit exposure against established credit limits.
- Review and approve counterparty contracts, including new agreements and amendments.
- Manage counterparty inquiries regarding internal and external credit exposure.
- Produce detailed reports on credit activities, exposures, and operational performance.
- Perform financial modeling to support the determination of credit limits and risk assessment.
- Handle counterparty risk mitigation strategies, including negotiations of credit support instruments.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and working groups related to credit risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a finance, accounting, or business environment.
- Preferably, a minimum of ten (10) years of experience within the oil and gas sector, specifically in finance or accounting roles.
- Demonstrated high-level organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial documents and ratio analysis.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to senior leadership and external counterparties.
- Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines and adjusting priorities as needed.
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
Publishing Pay Range: $40.00- $50.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
