Role Summary
A software developer with a focus on Oracle applications and software development is needed to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of technical and business software systems. This role involves collaborating with users to define system scope, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering high-quality solutions in a remote work environment. The position offers an opportunity to lead projects and contribute to software innovation within a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and enhance computer-based scientific, technical, and business software systems.
  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug software applications using appropriate programming languages and tools.
  • Collaborate with users to define system objectives, scope, and requirements for new or existing applications.
  • Provide analytical support and technical advice during all phases of software development and implementation.
  • Plan and schedule software development projects, including setting objectives, timelines, costs, and resource requirements.
  • Review and evaluate system and software compliance with government or industry standards for safety and quality.
  • Document hazard identification and mitigation measures within software systems using various analysis tools.
  • Verify that design mitigations are integrated and properly documented throughout the development process.
  • Evaluate code for validity, industry standards, and device compatibility; address issues uncovered during testing and customer feedback.
  • Lead or participate in project teams, instructing and monitoring the work of other developers or analysts as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with a BS/BA degree; 3 years with an MS/MBA.
  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL, Oracle Forms/Reports, APEX, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in software design, development, testing, and debugging within a government or commercial environment.
  • Strong understanding of safety analysis, hazard documentation, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Availability to work within a flexible schedule as required.

Publishing Pay Range: $41.00 – $46.00 hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
