Role Summary
This part-time System Administrator position supports Windows desktop environments, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity activities within a testing laboratory environment. The role provides hands-on technical support for system maintenance, updates, testing, data collection, and security documentation. This position is based on-site in Quantico, Virginia, and typically requires approximately 24 hours of work per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide Windows desktop support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to identify, implement, and verify system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Perform system confirmation testing according to established plans and procedures to support system readiness.
- Provide technical support during personnel testing sessions, including identifying, documenting, and troubleshooting issues.
- Execute data downloads and distribute data according to established procedures.
- Assist with documentation and artifacts supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) package preparation.
- Maintain and update lab systems and air-gapped networks to support applicable security and authorization requirements.
- Perform scheduled and on-demand system maintenance and updates.
- Provide on-site technical support during testing, data collection, and demonstration activities.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to support system security and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems, or equivalent practical experience supported by relevant education, training, or certifications.
- 5+ years of experience with PC maintenance and troubleshooting.
- 5+ years of experience working with Cisco IOS switches and routers.
- 5+ years of LAN administration experience.
- Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation or technical writing.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required. (Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance).
- Availability to work approximately 24 hours per week on-site in Quantico, Virginia.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco certifications are preferred.
Publishing Pay Range: $54.00 – $58.00 hourly
This position is based onsite and requires employee to work on-site.
