Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineering Test Specialist for a hybrid role that requires onsite work at Atlantic City Airport, NJ (Egg Harbor Township), with the potential for full-time conversion. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong background in SQL, Linux, and testing methodologies, who possesses excellent problem-solving and documentation skills. The role involves working closely with FAA operations, and thus, professionalism and strong communication skills are paramount. The initial contract is for a minimum of 6 months, with 3.5 years remaining, and the role is situated within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onsite testing at the Atlantic City Airport tech center, ensuring thorough and accurate results.
  • Analyze test outcomes to identify issues and develop effective solutions, contributing to overall system improvements.
  • Document all testing processes and findings in detail, ensuring reproducibility and adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with FAA employees and stakeholders, maintaining a high level of professionalism and effective communication.
  • Work within a lab environment following an 8 AM – 5 PM schedule, with some flexibility required, including the possibility of 3rd shift work during lab sharing periods.
  • Manage flight status-related tasks within Traffic Flow Management Systems, effectively communicating with air traffic controllers and technical personnel.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in system testing, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, business, or mathematics.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Linux, with a strong focus on debugging and issue resolution.
  • Previous experience with FAA operations is strongly preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Ability to pass an FAA background check, with the understanding that Public Trust clearance is required and the process takes approximately one month.
  • Residency within an hour of the job site is required for timely onsite presence.
  • Availability for a hybrid role with a minimum part-time onsite presence, and flexibility in work schedule.
  • Strong documentation skills, with an emphasis on detail-oriented processes. Running tests without thorough documentation will not meet expectations.
  • Team-oriented mindset; ability to work collaboratively in an environment without strict delineation between company and FAA employees.
  • Willingness to include detailed experience from the past 15 years in the resume. One-page resumes will not be considered.
