We’re hiring a Solution Data Architect to shape end-to-end data architecture supporting a Market Risk organization. This role focuses on understanding how risk teams operate today—often across legacy platforms, fragmented feeds, and manual/spreadsheet workflows—and turning that reality into scalable, accurate, and well-controlled data solutions. You’ll partner with risk stakeholders, business analysts, data modelers, and engineers to ensure risk data is defined correctly, integrated reliably, and fit for reporting and regulatory scrutiny.

What You’ll Do

  • Map and analyze Market Risk workflows across desks/products, including manual and spreadsheet-driven processes, to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to modernize.

  • Assess upstream source systems and data feeds (e.g., trading, pricing, risk) to understand structure, meaning/semantics, timing, and data integrity issues that affect risk results.

  • Drive clarity in requirements by working directly with business partners and SMEs—challenging assumptions, tightening definitions, and surfacing edge cases.

  • Convert regulatory and operational risk drivers into architecture guidance that engineering teams can implement (controls, auditability, lineage, reconciliation, etc.).

  • Enable data modeling efforts by validating source behavior, hierarchies, business logic, and calculation approaches—without being the primary owner of the physical/logical models.

  • Recommend ingestion/integration patterns (batch vs. streaming, incremental loads, reconciliation controls, late/corrected data handling) appropriate for risk governance needs.

  • Proactively identify data quality and control risks and address them early to reduce downstream issues in reporting, audit, and regulatory submissions.

  • Serve as the connector across business, data, and engineering, aligning teams on shared definitions, data flow, and usage in a complex environment.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years in solution architecture, data architecture, or data-focused technical roles within complex, data-heavy domains.

  • Strong track record working with fragmented data landscapes (legacy systems, manual processes, inconsistent definitions, heterogeneous sources).

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into data-ready definitions, including validation rules, exceptions, and testable logic.

  • Hands-on experience selecting and applying data ingestion and integration approaches, including reconciliation and controls.

  • Excellent communication skills—comfortable facilitating alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (preferably AWS and cloud-native data services).

  • Familiarity with tools/technologies such as Snowflake, Confluent Kafka, and Fivetran (or comparable modern data stack components).

  • Experience modernizing manual/spreadsheet-based processes into governed, automated data pipelines with strong controls and traceability.
