Role Summary

This CAD Draftsperson position supports the design and documentation of critical air traffic control infrastructure enhancements. The role involves creating, updating, and maintaining detailed technical and architectural drawings to facilitate the installation of new Air-to-Ground radio equipment across air traffic control centers nationwide. The candidate will work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure all drawings meet strict standards and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and revise facility as-built drawings utilizing CAD software and manual drafting techniques.
  • Ensure all engineering drawings adhere to the client's standards.
  • Translate field survey data, engineering notes, and design specifications into precise technical drawings.
  • Maintain organized drawing libraries, ensuring proper version control and documentation management.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to incorporate updates and revisions into drawings.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Identify discrepancies or potential design issues and communicate necessary corrections.
  • Support engineering teams during project planning, installation, and documentation updates.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all drafting activities, including 3D modeling and BIM tools when applicable.
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation supporting telecommunications infrastructure deployment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience (e.g., 7 years with an Associate’s degree).
  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proven proficiency with CAD software, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Experience creating technical drawings in engineering, architecture, telecommunications, or infrastructure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering, architectural, or manufacturing standards, symbols, and terminology.
  • Ability to develop accurate 3D models and familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to verify drawing accuracy.
  • Experience supporting federal infrastructure or programs is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) are a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment supporting telecommunications and facility engineering projects.

Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 – $45.00 hourly
