Role Summary
The Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer will lead the engineering, integration, and sustainment of enterprise-grade data infrastructure for mission partner environments. This role is responsible for designing and modernizing secure, resilient, and scalable data capabilities across enterprise systems. The engineer will build and sustain cloud data pipelines that reliably onboard and validate multiple data feeds into a modern analytics stack. This position supports platform governance and operational readiness in fast-paced, mission-critical settings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle design, implementation, integration, and sustainment of enterprise data infrastructures including data warehouses, data lakes, high-availability storage, and big-data environments
  • Engineer and optimize data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and interoperability to support analytics, cloud, IoT, BI, and mission data sharing requirements
  • Administer, secure, and modernize data platforms in alignment with DoD, DHS, and USCG cybersecurity and compliance standards
  • Provide engineering input and maintain alignment with the Infrastructure Design and Integration Management Plan (IDIMP)
  • Assess and coordinate facility, rack, cabling, and hardware modifications required for infrastructure deployment
  • Lead pre-implementation process improvement efforts to optimize system reliability, scalability, and operational readiness
  • Provide senior-level engineering guidance, technical recommendations, and executive-ready briefings to leadership and mission partners
  • Develop and test Confluent/Qlik Replicate feed author connection documentation and support training for data owners
  • Clear dependencies across network, policy, DBA, and change management processes to support secure delivery of data services

Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in data infrastructure engineering (or commensurate experience)
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, or CCNA Security)
  • Proven expertise designing and sustaining enterprise-scale data infrastructure in hybrid or cloud environments
  • Experience developing data pipelines, storage architectures, and system-to-system integration frameworks
  • Strong skills in SQL-based database management, data modeling, and performance optimization
  • Experience administering secure data platforms aligned with cybersecurity and compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting automation solutions using Power Platform tools
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to lead engineering discussions and present to senior leadership
  • Ability to support complex modernization initiatives in fast-paced, mission-critical operational environments
  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required. 

Publishing Pay Range: $68.00 – $70.00 hourly

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
