Server Specialist
Role Summary
A dedicated IT Server Operations Analyst will support server and infrastructure operations within a Network Operations Center (NOC). This role requires a technically proficient individual capable of handling day-to-day server troubleshooting, monitoring, incident response, and platform maintenance. The position offers opportunities to engage with cloud integrations, automation initiatives, and observability workflows while maintaining a strong focus on stability and operational efficiency. It is an on-site role suited for professionals with extensive experience in server support and infrastructure management.
Responsibilities
- Monitor infrastructure and platform health using tools such as SolarWinds Orion, Dynatrace, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
- Respond promptly to alerts, perform triage, escalate issues as necessary, and document incident actions to support root cause analysis and post-mortem activities.
- Participate in a structured on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical infrastructure incidents.
- Execute maintenance activities during scheduled windows, including server health checks, patching, firmware updates, and validation tasks.
- Troubleshoot and remediate issues on Windows and Linux servers across physical, virtual, and hybrid environments.
- Manage DNS records via Infoblox for infrastructure updates, failovers, and application routing needs.
- Collaborate with observability teams to improve monitoring coverage, topology visibility, and application-aware troubleshooting.
- Create, update, and manage support tickets, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
- Support server failover and failback procedures, ensuring proper validation and documentation of each process.
- Partner with automation teams to identify repetitive tasks and facilitate scripting or workflow automation to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in server operations, infrastructure support, or related IT roles.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux system administration.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and incident management tools such as SolarWinds Orion and Dynatrace.
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring services including AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.
- Practical understanding of virtualized environments, including VMware or Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in an on-site environment with participation in shift work and on-call rotations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Publishing Pay Range: $52.00 – $54.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
