Senior Systems Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Provide senior-level systems integration engineering support for the transition from legacy copper (TDM) networks to modern fiber and IP architectures within airspace environments. This role focuses on hands-on technical integration, including troubleshooting complex hybrid interfaces and executing end-to-end testing and validation for mission-critical performance. Work closely with systems integration stakeholders to refine architectures, manage technical risks, and support timely cutovers across multi-state environments.
This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain required clearances.
Responsibilities
- Analyze system architecture by reviewing requirements, preliminary designs, and architecture drawings to identify necessary updates
- Lead modernization initiatives transitioning legacy copper and TDM transport to fiber-based and IP-enabled architectures
- Execute end-to-end assessment, redesign, and integration of legacy infrastructure to ensure IP readiness
- Lead technical integration efforts across NAS environments, including advanced network protocols and transport infrastructure
- Troubleshoot complex issues across fiber, IP, and hybrid legacy interfaces while validating end-to-end system performance
- Direct hands-on circuit turn up, cutover, and integration activities across fiber, IP, and legacy interfaces
- Perform end-to-end testing and validation to confirm operational readiness and reliability requirements
- Deliver clear, actionable technical briefings to stakeholders and senior leadership on architecture changes and integration impacts
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks, interdependencies, and operational bottlenecks to maintain NAS continuity
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance and active clearance at time of hire
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure planning
- 5+ years working with core networking protocols, including BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6 (configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting)
- Experience supporting telecommunications and IT environments, including optical networking and SONET transport
- Familiarity with metro ring architectures and wired/wireless infrastructure in mission-critical environments
- Ability to perform complex troubleshooting across hybrid legacy and modern interfaces
- Experience delivering rigorous technical reporting and stakeholder briefings for architecture and integration changes
Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 – $45.00 Hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
