Role Summary
The Buyer/Sourcing Analyst in the Supply Chain Management Department is responsible for sourcing and purchasing quality materials, services, and equipment to meet organizational requirements. This role involves analytical and research support for strategic sourcing initiatives, ensuring procurement aligns with operational schedules. Responsibilities
- Conduct spend category analysis, market analysis, and supplier analysis, including benchmarking and cost modeling.
- Purchase materials, services, and equipment at the lowest possible cost while maintaining quality and specification standards.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to support engineering, maintenance, and operational schedules.
- Issue purchase orders and releases against service agreements; follow up on orders for prompt delivery.
- Review requisitions for completeness and proper approval.
- Coordinate document flows to ensure accurate handling by Accounts Payable and receiving.
- Expedite and track orders to meet required delivery dates.
- Process invoices and forward them to Accounts Payable.
- Identify sourcing opportunities through analysis of business and industry data.
- Support strategic sourcing projects and supplier relationship management efforts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or Sourcing is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, preferably in the energy or related industries.
- Experience working with Oracle Financial and purchase order management software is preferred.
- Demonstrated client service experience, with a focus on meeting customer expectations.
- Proven experience in supplier or contractor management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and persistent.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Prior leadership experience or potential is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
Publishing Pay Range: $30.00 – $32.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
