Role Summary
An intermediate-level Application Developer with expertise in Python and SQL, focusing on developing, maintaining, and extending enterprise-scale applications. This role combines traditional software development practices with AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate workflows and enhance application capabilities. The successful candidate will work on designing scalable solutions within a cloud or hybrid environment, contributing to innovative AI-native development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Python-based applications and microservices in cloud-hosted or hybrid environments.
  • Write clean, well-structured, and testable code adhering to SOLID principles and team standards.
  • Build and consume RESTful APIs; develop robust data models and integration patterns.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating input from peers.
  • Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions to influence technical direction for new projects.
  • Leverage AI-assisted coding tools, such as Claude Code, to enhance development efficiency and automate workflows.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize database performance and implementations.
  • Support deployment and operational processes utilizing CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
  • Assist in integrating AI frameworks and agentic development tools to support next-generation applications.

Qualifications

  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired must verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on Python.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs using frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django REST Framework.
  • Familiarity with ORM frameworks (preferably SQLAlchemy) and database migration tools.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and cloud deployment practices on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clarify complex requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, comfortable working remotely in an asynchronous environment.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $54.00 USD Hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
