Overview
Client is seeking a Solution & Domain Architect / Modeler to support critical government computer system(s). This role is primarily responsible for establishing, sustaining, and automating the foundational technical baseline and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) architectures throughout the solution lifecycle. This position will be located in Kearneysville, WV, and will be a hybrid position.
Responsibilities
As a Solution & Domain Architect / Modeler, you will serve as a primary technical resource for providing the architectural context that guides all software development, delivery, and sustainment activities. You will ensure that all platforms and applications are built on a consistent, secure, and automated foundation. Key responsibilities include:
- Construct and maintain actionable MBSE Domain architectures, including creation and update of Solution and Platform Architectures for existing Products/Platforms, based on the provided CG Digital Engineering Ecosystem and integrated digital models to establish a definitive technical baseline.
- Integrate Zero Trust principles and cybersecurity requirements, provided by the ASE Security Branch, directly into the foundational design of all solutions, platforms and domain architectures.
- Formalize technical standards and interoperability standards, ensuring full synchronization with overarching PEO C5I enterprise strategies and policies.
- Provide architectural guidance and reference models to development, integration, and product teams to ensure engineering remains traceable.
- Map and document complex service capabilities, architectural dependencies, and automated workflows across multiple technology domains.
- Drive the continuous evolution of the Software Yard's baseline by monitoring, evaluating, and recommending emerging technologies.
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards, government baselines, and DISA STIGs through automated security gating and vulnerability remediation.
Qualifications
High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills & Experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA Security).
- Proven experience creating and maintaining MBSE domain, solution and platform architectures, integrated digital models, or enterprise-level architecture blueprints.
- Experience with OMG Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) 1.2 or newer version, SysML and UML.
- Comprehensive operational understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and integrating cybersecurity controls into foundational designs.
- Strong experience establishing engineering frameworks, technical standards, and software traceability practices across automated lifecycles.
- Strong foundational understanding of diverse IT domains including enterprise virtualization, software engineering, cloud architecture, and network boundaries.
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard, Software Yard, or Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs.
- Familiarity with PEO C5I enterprise strategies, architectural policies, and command structures.
- Relevant professional certifications highly preferred (e.g., DevSecOps certifications, AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect, or INCOSE ASEP/CSEP).
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, software-defined infrastructure, and secure hybrid-cloud environments.
- Experience with CATIA Cameo and Teamwork Collaborator (TWC).
- Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
