Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to support critical systems within a secure, enterprise environment. This role involves developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Java-based applications. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable software solutions, ensuring adherence to government standards and security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications supporting DoD systems
- Implement front-end features using JavaScript and CSS to enhance user interfaces
- Work with Apache Struts frameworks to improve and support existing applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects promptly to minimize system downtime
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and quality standards
- Follow DoD security protocols, development standards, and documentation requirements
- Develop, code, test, and debug software solutions in accordance with industry best practices
- Collect and analyze system requirements, providing technical support during development and deployment
- Plan and schedule new application projects, including requirement gathering, scope definition, and resource allocation
- Participate in system hazard analysis, verification of design mitigations, and compliance evaluation
Qualifications
- This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in Java development
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, CSS, and Apache Struts
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and enterprise application development
- Experience with version control tools such as Git
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and application hardening techniques
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment within a secure, mission-critical setting
- Familiarity with software troubleshooting, debugging, and defect resolution
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent training
Publishing Pay Range: $45.00 – $50.00 hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from any approved location within the United States.
