Role Summary

A junior AWS engineer is needed to support customer onboarding and operational tasks within AWS GovCloud environments. This role involves executing onboarding processes, following structured runbooks, and collaborating with technical teams to ensure seamless tenant setup and configuration. It is ideal for individuals early in their cloud career seeking to develop hands-on operational experience in a structured environment focused on execution and support.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned onboarding and deployment tickets for AWS GovCloud environments in accordance with predefined procedures
  • Follow detailed runbooks and playbooks to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Support tenant setup activities including configuration, validation, and documentation
  • Monitor ticket queues to ensure timely completion within SLA targets
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues when necessary
  • Document completed work and maintain clear handoff notes for future reference
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and support teams to resolve blockers and improve processes
  • Support compliance and security requirements during onboarding and operational activities
  • Assist in deploying configurations using CloudFormation or scripts following established processes
  • Maintain awareness of operational guidelines and contribute to process improvements

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of experience working with cloud environments, specifically AWS
  • Basic familiarity with AWS services such as IAM, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and VPC concepts
  • Ability to follow deployment instructions using CloudFormation or scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python
  • Exposure to systems and identity concepts, including Active Directory and SSO/SAML frameworks
  • Experience working within ticketing systems like Jira or ServiceNow
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures and checklists
  • Basic troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn and adapt within a structured, process-driven environment
  • Authorization to work in the specified location without restrictions

Publishing Pay Range: $40.00 – $46.00 hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
