Role Summary
This position requires an experienced AWS Enterprise Solutions Architect to support modernization efforts within a federal environment. The role involves designing and implementing scalable, secure, multi-cloud infrastructure solutions aligned with agency compliance standards. The candidate will lead cloud architecture projects, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership to ensure successful cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute cloud architecture strategies to support enterprise application modernization and migration efforts on AWS platform.
  • Design scalable, secure, and compliant multi-cloud infrastructure solutions utilizing AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB, EKS/ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, SQS, SES, and Lake Formation.
  • Lead the development of proof of concepts (POCs), minimum viable products (MVPs), and solution roadmaps to facilitate cloud adoption and modernization.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation to enhance operational efficiency and security.
  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts across application development, security, and infrastructure domains.
  • Ensure solutions meet compliance standards such as FedRAMP, RMF, and other federal security requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with organizational and mission objectives.
  • Maintain expertise in cloud governance, security integration, performance tuning, and monitoring.
  • Support the development and enforcement of cloud security and governance policies to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
  • 10+ years of experience architecting and delivering cloud solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • 8+ years of experience in two or more of these domains: core infrastructure, application development, data & analytics, or low/no-code solutions.
  • Extensive AWS architecture experience, with strong expertise in RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB, EKS/ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, SQS, SES, Lake Formation, and related AWS networking, security, and governance services.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise cloud architecture initiatives, including migration and modernization strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code practices.
  • Familiarity with federal regulatory standards such as FedRAMP, RMF, and ATO/cATO frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to support federal agencies in highly regulated environments and coordinate across technical teams.

Publishing Pay Range: $95.00 -$105.00 hourly

This position offers a fully remote work arrangement, allowing the candidate to operate from an approved remote location.
