Role Summary
A mid-level Control Engineer position responsible for supporting control system equipment and configurations on capital projects and daily operations within a process plant environment. The role involves providing engineering support, system configuration, and operational training to ensure optimal performance of control systems in gas and liquid processing facilities. This position requires hands-on technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support process control systems, instrumentation, and measurement technologies to optimize plant performance.
- Provide engineering guidance and technical support for process control project scope development and cost estimations.
- Participate in the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Support operational teams through training on control systems, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of control hardware and software.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices for natural gas processing, fractionation, and pipeline operations.
- Perform loop tuning, basic and complex regulatory control adjustments to enhance process stability.
- Document system configurations, operational procedures, and technical specifications to maintain regulatory and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to scope, estimate, and implement control system modifications and upgrades.
- Travel up to 25% for site support, project implementation, and operational assistance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 5 years of experience, or a minimum of 10 years equivalent experience in process control systems within plant and pipeline facilities.
- Proven experience with process control, instrumentation, and measurement technologies in industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of natural gas processing, fractionation, and pipeline operations, including industry standards and safety protocols.
- Hands-on configuration experience with DCS, HMI, and PLC platforms; Honeywell Experion experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory control, loop tuning, and complex safety systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across various organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for project and operational support.
- Must have legal work authorization for employment in the United States.
Publishing Pay Range: $120,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
