Role Summary
The Electrical Engineer III is a mid- to senior-level engineering position responsible for managing complex electrical projects that support critical infrastructure such as pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing electrical systems while providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This position requires collaboration across teams and effective communication with stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions and project results.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize electrical power distribution systems for critical infrastructure projects.
  • Incorporate advanced technologies including automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Develop electrical schematics, system layouts, and support documentation for new and existing facilities.
  • Conduct detailed power system studies using tools such as ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, or Simulink.
  • Implement safety measures like arc flash mitigation and fault detection to ensure personnel safety and system reliability.
  • Ensure all electrical designs and projects comply with relevant codes and standards including NEC, NEMA, API, and IEEE.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on engineering solutions, project planning, and execution to meet business goals and timelines.
  • Support procurement activities for electrical equipment, leveraging industry contacts to source quality materials at competitive prices.
  • Lead or assist with the commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations to stakeholders, highlighting project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university or a relevant Engineering Technology degree with a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • At least four years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general PC skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical design codes including NEC, NEMA, API, and IEEE.
  • Experience with power system analysis, simulation tools (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB).
  • Familiarity with high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, and switchgear.
  • Strong understanding of grid integration and renewable energy systems.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as a primary focus.
  • Preferred: Project management experience and familiarity with PLCs, HMI systems, and instrumentation design.

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $75.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
