Role Summary
This role involves managing and maintaining critical facilities infrastructure for a highly secure aviation environment. The position requires overseeing physical systems, ensuring operational uptime, and supporting telecommunications installation and maintenance. The successful candidate will work primarily from a designated FAA location in Cleveland, OH, with regional travel to support multiple sites. This is a long-term assignment focused on safeguarding national airspace assets and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize physical facilities, including generators, HVAC systems, racks, cabling, and site security, to ensure maximum uptime.
- Escort technical personnel and monitor visitors to protect sensitive equipment and restricted security areas.
- Lead installation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, and fiber-optic cabling.
- Oversee and troubleshoot critical power systems, including DC power, rectifiers, and battery backups, to ensure continuous operations.
- Review technical designs and contractor work for compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols within the physical infrastructure and facilities management processes.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to optimize infrastructure performance and security.
- Maintain documentation related to system configurations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in FAA suitability processes and support operational readiness during onboarding periods.
- Support short or long-term travel across the region, with expenses reimbursed, to assist multiple locations as needed.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain FAA suitability clearance.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities engineering or management.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (additional 4 years).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, power distribution, cabling standards, and building infrastructure systems.
- Proven experience reviewing technical designs and contractor compliance.
- Understanding of safety, security, and regulatory standards for critical infrastructure.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with physical security standards for facilities.
- Ability to work on-site in Cleveland, OH, with regional travel.
- Must be available for long-term assignment support.
Publishing Pay Range: $46.00 – $51.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
