Role Summary
This position involves supporting the operational integrity and security of enterprise network infrastructure within a 24/7 Network Operations Center. The Network Operations Specialist will manage, monitor, and troubleshoot network systems, infrastructure, and applications, ensuring optimal performance and rapid issue resolution. This role requires a flexible schedule to support round-the-clock operations and critical network functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second line support for network and system issues, including phone systems, SCADA servers, remote devices, and related infrastructure.
  • Monitor and maintain network management tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center, ThousandEyes, nGeniusONE, and others to ensure network health and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tier 1 and tier 2 issues affecting Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN links.
  • Manage configuration and support for Cisco infrastructure failures and outages across diverse network circuits, including DWDM, SONET, VPN, VSAT, LTE, and cellular links.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot Windows Server environments based on organizational standards and operational requirements.
  • Monitor data center environmental systems and validate application functionality supported by IT infrastructure.
  • Debug and resolve remote SCADA and control network issues, supporting plant operations.
  • Escalate and manage support tickets related to server, network, and application issues, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Support network security policies and perform device replacements for faulty equipment in the field.
  • Generate reports on network performance, incident trends, and infrastructure health to inform management decisions.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Cisco CCNA certification required; CCNP or similar advanced certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years supporting enterprise Cisco network environments.
  • At least 2 years supporting enterprise Microsoft Server operating systems and environments.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and Nexus devices.
  • Familiarity with network management tools such as Cisco DNA, SolarWinds, LiveAction, NetScout, and Cisco APIC is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of network circuits such as MPLS, VSAT, LTE, Microwave, DS-3, T-1, and related technologies preferred.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills in Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or C# preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and high analytical ability for troubleshooting advanced network issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays to support a 24×7 operational schedule.

Publishing Pay Range: $42.00 – $44.00 hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
