Role Summary

The Network Transport Team Lead oversees a multi-location engineering and operations team responsible for supporting secure, mission-critical enterprise network environments. This role provides leadership across network operations, configuration, security compliance, troubleshooting, modernization, and technology deployments while supporting operational readiness and network availability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-location engineering and operations team, including internal and subcontracted personnel.
  • Manage and maintain secure enterprise network environments supporting mission-critical communications.
  • Oversee 24/7 network operations and Tier 2/3 support activities to maintain reliable network services.
  • Review and implement network configurations and architectures for large-scale enterprise deployments while supporting hardware compatibility and availability.
  • Validate network upgrades and configurations in test environments prior to production implementation.
  • Coordinate network deployments, troubleshooting activities, and resolution of implementation issues across technical teams.
  • Monitor network security compliance and support adherence to organizational policies and applicable security standards.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting involving routing, switching, cryptographic devices, and network transport technologies.
  • Utilize automation and network management tools to streamline administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop reports on network health, deployment status, and compliance for leadership and participate in change management activities.
  • Support operational activities related to system updates, migrations, and network component changes.

Qualifications

  • Relevant education, training, certifications, or equivalent practical experience.
  • High school diploma with 12+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ CE, CySA+, or applicable equivalent.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supporting large-scale enterprise network environments.
  • Strong knowledge of secure networking and cryptographic technologies, including TACLANE KG-175D and KG-175F or comparable technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise Cisco routers and switches.
  • Proficiency with Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco ISE, and Cisco SD-WAN.
  • Foundational knowledge of Zero Trust architectures, Comply-to-Connect (C2C), SD-WAN, and microsegmentation.
  • Experience building and managing lab or test environments for network validation.
  • Experience supporting technology modernization, network upgrades, deployments, and compliance reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and Microsoft Visio.
  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required. (Active Secret security clearance required).

Publishing Pay Range: USD $155,000.00 – USD $195,000.00 Annually

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
