Role Summary

A senior data engineer with extensive hands-on experience in building and maintaining modern, scalable data pipelines and transformation frameworks. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing production-grade data solutions using Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ownership, accountability, and operational independence to deliver high-quality data infrastructures that meet enterprise standards for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines utilizing Fivetran for ingestion and dbt for transformation on Snowflake.
  • Develop and manage modular, reusable dbt models including staging, intermediate, and data marts, with documentation and testing.
  • Create scalable data models based on best practices such as star schema, dimensional modeling, and data vault principles.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance through query tuning, workload management, micro-partitioning, clustering, and pruning.
  • Build and enforce data quality frameworks featuring schema validation, testing, and reconciliation for consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop Python scripts for automation, operational tooling, metadata management, and orchestration support.
  • Implement and maintain Git-based development workflows including version control, branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to enable automated testing, deployment, and environment promotion for data workflows.
  • Collaborate with platform, governance, and business teams to align on data requirements, access control, and delivery standards.
  • Work with orchestration tools like Airflow or similar to schedule, monitor, and manage data pipeline executions, ensuring operational reliability.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles with a focus on scalable data architecture.
  • Hands-on production experience with dbt, including model development, dependency management, macros, testing, and deployment.
  • Deep Snowflake expertise encompassing data modeling, performance tuning, cost optimization, security, and access control.
  • Strong SQL skills for building complex transformations and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Python programming for automation, data processing, and operational support.
  • Solid experience with Git, including collaborative development workflows and version control.
  • Proven track record in designing, building, and maintaining reliable, high-performance data pipelines aligned with SLAs.
  • Mandatory: Direct, practical experience with Fivetran connectors setup/troubleshooting, dbt model development/testing, and Snowflake engineering in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and actively collaborate across teams.
  • Availability to work on-site at the designated location.
