Cloud Engineer
Role Summary
The Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure to support digital transformation initiatives. This role involves modernizing IT environments by leveraging public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The position requires technical expertise in cloud architecture, security, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure resilient and compliant cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain secure, resilient cloud architectures for core banking platforms, applications, and services.
- Develop cloud adoption roadmaps, including workload placement, modernization strategies, and disaster recovery plans aligned with RTO/RPO requirements.
- Deploy, configure, and manage IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions across multiple cloud platforms and on-premises environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Azure Bicep/ARM, CloudFormation, and Pulumi.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and operational processes.
- Enforce cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and network segmentation, in collaboration with cybersecurity teams.
- Work with compliance teams to adhere to FFIEC, GLBA, and NIST guidelines concerning cloud systems and operations.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance management solutions to ensure end-to-end visibility and optimize cloud and on-premises resources.
- Partner with various teams to define and enforce hybrid cloud governance policies, tagging strategies, and landing-zone standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks for cloud environments and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Familiarity with networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
Publishing Pay Range: $58.00 – $68.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
