Role Summary
This position involves managing and maintaining Microsoft Purview applications within a highly secure, classified environment. The role requires expertise in data governance, compliance, and security, supporting the implementation and optimization of data protection policies. It is suited for an experienced IT professional capable of collaborating across multiple teams to ensure data security and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test data governance and compliance policies, including data classification, labeling, and DLP policies.
  • Monitor and optimize policies to ensure alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Purview and integrated Microsoft 365 services.
  • Administer role groups, custom roles, and permissions within the Purview portal.
  • Protect sensitive data from internal and external threats by implementing information protection and insider risk management solutions.
  • Respond to data protection incidents and participate in security investigations.
  • Manage and support eDiscovery workflows, including data collection, search, and export for legal and compliance teams.
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, IT, security teams, and business owners to enforce governance best practices.
  • Provide training and user support on data protection tools and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of progressive IT experience, or Associate's Degree with 10+ years, or 12+ years of equivalent IT experience.
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview administration.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance principles.
  • Experience with data loss prevention (DLP), data classification, and sensitivity labeling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 environments and related services like Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell is a plus.
  • Experience with risk assessments and audits.
  • Ability to develop and implement security and compliance policies.

Publishing Pay Range: $60.00 – $65.00 Hourly

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
