Role Summary
Seeking an experienced Load Balancer Design Engineer to support enterprise application delivery infrastructure across global environments. This role involves architecture, design, lifecycle management, and optimization of load balancing platforms such as F5 and VMware AVI. The engineer will focus on delivering scalable, secure, and resilient solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business requirements, supporting a six-month migration from legacy AVI to F5 platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of application delivery infrastructure including design, deployment, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Develop high-level and low-level design documentation, runbooks, and implementation plans following industry best practices and security principles.
  • Architect application delivery solutions involving SSL offloading, DNS, persistence, traffic management, and security features.
  • Ensure integration of security controls and compliance requirements into all system designs.
  • Perform quality assurance validation and testing to ensure smooth production deployment.
  • Collaborate with global engineering, operations, and lines of business teams for service transition and delivery.
  • Lead service request fulfillment processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Minimize change incidents through peer reviews, standardized deployment procedures, and governance.
  • Oversee lifecycle programs including patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and end-of-life replacements.
  • Provide performance metrics reporting and insights for leadership review.
  • Troubleshoot complex load balancing, DNS, SSL, and network issues in production environments.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of network engineering experience with a focus on load balancing and application delivery solutions.
  • Hands-on expertise in F5 Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and Global Traffic Manager (GTM).
  • Experience with F5 APM and ASM modules.
  • Exposure to VMware AVI (NSX Advanced Load Balancer).
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, HTTPS, BGP, DNS, and SSL/TLS.
  • Deep knowledge of application switching, traffic management, persistence, and optimization.
  • Experience with SSL offloading, certificate lifecycle management, and PKI processes.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills in complex, high-availability environments.
  • Ability to utilize APIs such as F5 iControl for automation and integration.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of F5 load balancing experience.
  • Working knowledge of AVI load balancing (legacy platform).
  • Prior experience participating in lifecycle management and technology refresh programs.

Publishing Pay Range: $53.00 – $55.00 Hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
