Role Summary
This role involves leading and managing advanced quality planning activities for new product introductions and significant process changes within a manufacturing environment. The position requires a strategic approach to risk mitigation, validation, and launch readiness, ensuring high standards of quality are maintained throughout the product lifecycle. It offers an opportunity to collaborate across multiple departments to drive continuous improvement and ensure successful product launches.
Responsibilities
- Lead advanced quality planning activities for new product introductions and major process changes.
- Develop and implement DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and inspection plans to identify and mitigate risks early in the product lifecycle.
- Support validation, qualification, and launch-related activities, including first article inspections and PPAPs.
- Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to define key quality characteristics and process controls.
- Manage quality documentation and ensure compliance with launch and production readiness requirements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce design and process risks through proactive quality planning and risk assessments.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review quality deliverables, risk mitigation actions, and validation results.
- Monitor and report on quality performance metrics related to new product launches, focusing on defect prevention.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality planning and manufacturing ramp-up processes.
- Assist in establishing standardized procedures and best practices for quality assurance during product development and manufacturing ramp-up.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in advanced quality planning, new product development, or related quality engineering roles.
- Proven experience leading DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and inspection plans in a manufacturing setting.
- Hands-on experience supporting or leading validation, first article inspections, and launch quality deliverables.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment tools, quality standards, and failure mode analysis.
- Experience working with suppliers, especially in supplier quality or supplier parts integration, is a plus.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to work in a hybrid environment with flexible schedule management.
Publishing Pay Range: $50.00-$58.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
