Role Summary

The Senior Lead / Delivery Lead Cloud Architect is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and delivery of cloud architecture solutions within an AWS environment. This role provides technical leadership across delivery teams and supports the modernization and integration of legacy components into scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cloud architecture design and delivery, including deployment and validation of AWS cloud environments.
  • Develop cloud architecture specifications to support system validation, integration, scalability, and performance objectives.
  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure using AWS best practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Manage provisioning, configuration, and operational readiness of cloud environments to support security, scalability, resiliency, and performance.
  • Collaborate with application, data, security, and other technical teams to integrate legacy components into modern cloud environments.
  • Lead technical delivery activities, including task planning, risk and issue management, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance throughout project execution.
  • Develop architectural artifacts, diagrams, design documentation, and cloud implementation plans aligned with applicable enterprise standards.
  • Support security and compliance activities, including control documentation, authorization activities, and applicable cloud security requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cloud automation, modernization, and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 10+ years with a master’s degree, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering solutions in AWS, including application of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience designing, optimizing, and migrating applications or platforms to AWS, including integration with legacy systems.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience leading cloud delivery teams or large-scale modernization initiatives in regulated or complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security, identity and access management, networking, encryption, and performance engineering within AWS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, or a comparable cloud certification.
  • Experience supporting cloud environments in regulated or security-focused organizations.
  • Experience with healthcare claims systems, healthcare platforms, or healthcare data workflows.
  • Experience designing identity and access management, data encryption, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with proof-of-concept development, architecture validation, and cloud performance benchmarking.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and security requirements.
  • Experience supporting enterprise modernization initiatives involving legacy-to-cloud transitions.
  • Experience developing architectural documentation and participating in technical governance or architecture review activities.
Publishing Pay Range: $70.00 – $74.00 Hourly
