Role Summary
This position involves creating and managing comprehensive technical documentation for security and networking products. The role requires deep expertise in technical writing, particularly in security documentation, with the ability to handle complex projects independently. Collaboration with engineering and product teams is essential to ensure accurate and clear content delivery across multiple formats and audiences.
Responsibilities
- Independently own and execute complex documentation projects for security networking products.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and customer support teams to gather technical details and ensure accuracy.
- Develop and manage installation guides, release notes, and user documentation.
- Organize technical information to be accessible and understandable for various user personas, including end users, installers, and support staff.
- Edit and update existing documentation to reflect new product features and updates.
- Mentor junior technical writers, providing guidance and best practices.
- Establish and refine standards and templates for technical documentation and content consistency.
- Work within lab environments to interpret technical data and incorporate findings into documentation.
- Transform content to enhance AI-readiness, supporting the client's strategy for quick information retrieval.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of technical tools and content management systems utilized in documentation production.
Qualifications
- Relevant education, training, certifications, or equivalent practical experience in technical communication, engineering, or computer science.
- 7+ years of experience creating security documentation for networking products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in editing and reviewing technical content.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, and related protocols.
- Proficiency with authoring tools like Oxygen XML, Markdown, or equivalent.
- Experience with project management and issue-tracking platforms such as Atlassian Jira.
- Familiarity with content management systems like Adobe Experience Manager or similar.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Publishing Pay Range: $41.00 – $46.00 Hourly
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
